Dondo's in his bedroom in the family's Los Angeles apartment from 1960 to 1996. Mom was the last one to leave the apartment when she got her stroke in 1996 to move in with her son a year later. The picture was taken in 1970 when Dondo was in the 9th grade at Berendo Jr. High. The family would later go to the Cinerama Dome theater in Hollywood to see the movie, "Krakatoa East of Java", that Sunday afternoon.

Notice in the picture the following, a "Snoopy" tie clip on Dondo's tie, a happy birthday card showing "SON" from mom and dad on the wall, a coins deposit bank, a 1950's World Book Encyclopedia Set, a Grundig radio, a picture of Dondo when he was 5 years old, and a San Francisco Charger doll whose head would whopple when touched.
