Dondo received his MSEE in December 1990. Dondo, in November 1990, from CSLA was one of three chosen (two from New Mexico State University) from universities west of the Mississippi to be chosen for job interviews with IBM at Poughkeepsie and East Fishkill, New York. He was accepted for a technical position in New York in January 1991 but chose not to go there because his mom, Lillie Lapahie, didn't want to leave Los Angeles, and Harrison didn't want to leave his mom alone.
