Dondo and "Snowball" just before dad, Harrison Lapahie, would drop off Dondo at Belmont High School during the 10th grade of 1970. Dondo was wearing the ROTC uniform that was required for his ROTC class. He later transferred to Mr. Arima's PE class the 2nd semester of the 10th grade because of the weak ROTC program Dondo thought Belmont had (actually it was one of the best programs in Los Angeles).

A Belmont ROTC Commander would later force Dondo to shave his whiskers that were just beginning to form under his nose. Mom, Lillie Lapahie, didn't like that and wanted to go to Belmont to complain.
