Little has been told of Cora’s Henderson’s life, therefore, at this time, a full and complete story can not be told. She was born about or on August 5, 1900, to Hastiin Naataaníí Atsósie Begay and Lady Dugout (Navajo Name: A Zah Leh Ho Geh) What has been told and remembered was that she use to like to smoke when she was young, made guns off the reservation during World War II, and also use to work at Fred Harvey’s Hotel in Barstow, CA. What Harrison Lapahie Jr., her grandson, remembered was that she and her husband, Willie Lapahie, lived on the farm, by the San Juan River, in Shiprock, NM, and grew apples trees, alfalfa, watermellons, honeydew, and acres of corn. Cora seemed to always be sick in the 1960s, and was mostly bed-ridden, either at the farm in Shiprock, or at the sheep camp at Table Mesa, NM. She died May 9, 1969, at Shiprock PHS (Public Health Service) Hospital. Lucy (Lapahie) Begay was the only one there when she died..
